Recording videos and action-cam footage

Video is one of the most valuable things TRUST+ Pro captures. A clear recording of the problem, the work, and the final result protects both you and your customer — and gives your office everything they need to follow up.

Recording with your iPhone camera

You can record video directly from within a visit:

  1. Open the project and navigate to the current visit.
  2. Tap the camera icon to open the capture screen.
  3. Switch to video mode and tap the record button to start.
  4. Tap again to stop.

The video is saved to the visit immediately. You can record multiple videos in a single visit.

Video types

When you record a video, you may be prompted to label it with a type — for example, Pre-Service Review or Customer Statement. Labeling videos helps your office quickly find the right footage and makes the documentation more meaningful.

If you record a Customer Statement and one already exists for that visit, the app will ask whether you want to replace it or keep both. Choose whichever is appropriate.

Recording with an action camera

If your company has set up action cameras (such as a GoPro), you can import footage from the camera into a visit.

  1. Follow your company’s setup process to connect the action camera.
  2. After recording, open the visit you want to attach the footage to.
  3. Use the action-cam import option to link the recording to the visit.

Action-cam footage goes through a processing pipeline after it’s synced — this can take a few minutes. During processing, the footage is automatically reviewed for audio content and other details. You’ll see a status indicator while it’s in progress.

Phone Action Cam (long-form recording)

Phone Action Cam turns your iPhone into a mounted, long-form recorder for the whole job — useful when you want continuous footage instead of short clips. You start it the same way you start any other video.

  1. Open the visit and tap the camera icon to open the recording sheet.
  2. Tap the Action Cam row. (If you don’t see it, see Why don’t I see Action Cam in the recording sheet?.)
  3. Confirm whether audio should be on or off for this session — your company sets a default, but you can override it here.
  4. Show your iPhone to the homeowner so they can read the on-screen disclosure, then tap to begin.
  5. Mount your phone where it has a clear view of the work area.

A session has no fixed time limit — recording continues until you stop it, or until the app stops it to protect the phone (overheating, low battery, or low storage; the screen tells you why). While it records, the app uploads completed segments in the background — you can keep using the rest of the app, and you’ll see a Finishing previous recording… subtitle while uploads wrap up. The app records in roughly 10-minute segments — comfortably under the per-segment upload limit — so long sessions arrive as several pieces and are reassembled on the office side.

If a recording is interrupted (you close the app, the phone reboots, you lose signal), the captured footage is preserved on the device and resumes uploading the next time the app is open with a connection.

Uploading and syncing

Videos are saved locally first and uploaded when you have a connection. Large videos upload in the background — you don’t have to keep the app open.

If an upload fails (for example, if you lose signal mid-upload), the app retries automatically. You can also check the sync status in the app to see if anything is pending.
