Configuring Phone Action Cam
Last updated: 2026-08-01
Phone Action Cam lets your technicians use a mounted iPhone as a long-form action camera — continuous recording with no fixed session limit, with segments uploading in the background.
Three gates have to be in place before the Action Cam row appears in a technician’s recording sheet:
- Phone Action Cam is enabled for your partner.
- A Digital Consent Form is configured for your partner.
- The homeowner has signed the consent form for that specific project.
If any one is missing, the option stays hidden — by design, so long-form recording can’t start without documented consent on file.
Step 1 — Enable Phone Action Cam
- Sign in to console.trustyoucansee.com.
- Go to Partners and open your company.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Scroll to Phone Action Cam.
- Toggle Enable Phone Action Cam on.
Step 2 — Set the default audio behavior
Under Audio, choose whether new sessions start with audio recording on or off by default. Technicians can override this per session, but the default is what they see first. Pick the setting that matches your company’s standard practice and the language in your consent form.
Step 3 — Customize the homeowner disclosure (optional)
Before each session begins, the technician’s iPhone shows a short disclosure for the homeowner to read. By default this uses TRUST+‘s standard wording.
To customize:
- In the Phone Action Cam section, find Homeowner Disclosure.
- Edit the headline and body text.
- Save.
Keep the wording short and plain — homeowners read it on a phone screen, often outdoors. If your legal team has specific language they want, paste it here.
Step 4 — Confirm consent is in place
Phone Action Cam relies on the Digital Consent Form configured in Settings → Consent Form. If you haven’t set that up yet, see Step 3 of the Getting Started guide. Without an active consent form, the toggle won’t take effect for technicians in the field.
How quickly the change reaches technicians
Once you save, the iPhone app picks up the new setting on its next partner-config refresh — automatically about once an hour. To force an immediate update, the technician can sign out and sign back in.
Questions?
If you turn it on and a technician still doesn’t see the option, see Why don’t I see Action Cam in the recording sheet? or contact support.
